The Golf Cart
Barrett and Lauren met late on a cool Thursday night in August of 2013 on an impromptu golf cart ride. They were neighbors who had recently moved across from each other on 18th street and were both out and about in their new stomping grounds. Another group of boys who lived close by were taking a joy ride around in a golf cart; Naturally, Barrett hopped on. A few turns and twists later, Lauren decided the ride looked like fun and sat with Barrett in the back seat. They’ve been enjoying each other’s company, sometimes even inseparable, since that moment.
The Proposal
After a day of teaching snowboard lessons at Eldora Mountain Resort just 30 minutes West of Boulder, Lauren and Barrett were on their way home. Without warning, Barrett turned on to 18th Street in to their old neighborhood and parked the car. He got out, walked around the car, got on one knee, opened the door, and proposed in the spot they had met. Lauren was shocked at first, but did say “yes!” once she knew he was actually serious. The newly engaged couple enjoyed a brisk walk around their old neighborhood before departing back to the house.
